Why should people care?
My approach to the copywriting process is to find the core narrative embedded within the science or technology itself by pulling out my metaphorical microscope and asking questions about the deeper meaning and impact of any given theory, product, or process. How does this technology impact people, the earth, the world? What makes this discovery special, useful, necessary? On a fundamental level all writing, including writing conveying complex scientific concepts or technological systems, needs to answer these three basic questions:
Why you? Why now? Why this?
The nitty, gritty details are important to the functionality of any given product or service. But the larger narrative of technology creates a holistic, comprehensive image that captures the imagination of the audience, that says, “I’m here for you. Use me.”
I’m particularly passionate about purposeful innovation that seeks to improve the lives of people and the planet and would love to partner with companies who share this value.
